The day was passing without any energy in the house of Jagoo. bread was dear and Jagannath was least bothered about the family. All the money was vested in country bar. Jagannath’s family had a very weak vision as no was there to earn for the family. But destiny destined something else for the family.
The loud cry of the family made the street alert. Jagannath left the world leaving behind Jagoo, Smrithi and Kannika,the mother.one week passed . leaving the sorrow behind , Kannika thought of earning for the family.since she is not educated,she took the decision to work as a maid.
As the day passed,she could get a few houses to work in and started getting thousand rupees where she could manage to feed the starved children. The family seems not too ambitious ,of course ,no source was there to rely upon.
Jagoo at the the time of her dad’s death was 12 years old and Smrithi was 10 years old. Kannika one rightly said that when the destiny changes, it makes the people also change according to the destiny. Jagoo since the very young age showed much interest in studies.she used to scribble on the tar road with the stone. This shows that she is more interested in studies than anything else.this paved the way for further progress.
One day Kannika returned from her domestic work ,saw Jagoo scribbling on the road.she became callous to her interest and she knew that she cannot fulfill her wish.so ,she thought of killing her wish from the bud stage itself. Jagoo saw some children on the road with school bags and that the ardent wish was visible in her face. But man proposes and god disposes,like that it became in her life. Kannika shouted and removed all her frustration on Jagoo said that if i see you next time writing on the road I’ll be a bad mother ever.whole night she couldn’t sleep.whatever she did with Jagoo surely it is wrong ,but no other way and options in her life. Kannika next morning pretended that she is normal and forgot everything whatever happened in the previous night.
Jagoo was very upset.she thought what sin I have done why i have not blessed .since she is small ,she is unaware of income and expenditure. She never thought to go to school one has to spend money. Infact she has not seen money. As usual Kannika went to her work place.the malkin of one of the houses was very generous and kind lady.she noticed restlessness in Kannikas face and tried to ask the problem. Kannika at that moment thought that god himself came forward and told the ways to get rid of the problem. Kannika narrated whole incident whatever happened at home. Malkin was without any children since her husband failed to produce .but they were wealthy and happy family as they did not regret at all about the problem as they thought that god proposed to be like that.
Next morning Malkin went to nearby school to seek admission for Jagoo. She met Principal Mr.Dias. but he did not agree .he said that primary education is very important to give admission here. Malkin went to one more school where Mrs. Meena was the principal.According to her age she should be in 8th grade .Malkin did not give up .she tried to convince the principal as Mrs Meena was very kind.At last she agreed to give with one condition that the school has a right to detain if she fails to show improvement. Dr. Ramachary ,the trustee called Malkin and took interest in giving the admission and asked her to bring Jagoo the next day itself.
Malkin was very excited and told everything about the school, she visited and the positive response from Dr. Ramachary. Kannika went home with the wrinkle free face and said Jagoo to accompany her the next morning. Jagoo was innocent and she doesn’t know what’s happening around her dumbly she was following her mother. Jagoo for the very first time visited to Malkin’s house. Malkin was very happy to see her and she couldn’t believe her eyes. Jagoo dressed very neatly ,her eyes was ambitious,very obedient.for malkin it was like first impression is the last impression.she couldn’t believe her eyes that kannika was having Jagoo like daughter.
“Jagoo come here”Malkin called in a affectionate tone.
“Yes ma”she went near malkin
“would you like to go to school”malkin interrogated her to see the interest of the child .
“Hmmm”.
“Take this school bag”
Jagoo took that bag and excited to see what is there inside the bag as it was heavy
Malkin saw the strange feeling of Jagoo about the books she gave.Immediately she started scribbling on the slates .suddenly she could hear the sound of an aeroplane for which every time she used to run outside and wave to it. This time also she started waving ,as if the passengers of the aero plane are responding to it. “Jagoo come soon, let’s go”said Kannika
The day started with the bright sunshine. Malkin with Jagoo went to meet Dr. Ramachary. both Jagoo and malkin waited outside as Dr. Ramachary was little busy. Jagoo started seeing the infrastructure up and down.students were playing outside in the playground.later peon came to call Malkin. Jagoo was cool and took small interview where she responded very well.Dr. Ramachary was impressed about the child and saw the urge in the girl for studies. He appreciated Malkin’s interest in giving service to poor people. Malkin tried to teach her the art of fishing instead of providing fish , because the art of fishing can give entire life to her. Malkin was a kind lady and very generous.she possessed all luxurious things in her life ,still she is very down to earth.
Next day,the day of interest as life long cherished dream came true of going to school.she was fully enthusiastic.First day of the school was very bad for her.she felt initially teachers are just entering the class saying something and going out.At first she couldn’t understand anything.she was very upset. Dr. Ramachary usually visits all the classroom in the morning .as usual in his visits he saw Jagoo sitting idle in the classroom and instructed the class teacher and students to help her .Initial stage was very tough for Jagoo because she did not step into the school.still she did not loose hope,moreover she is very new to the English language.Day passed with struggling with the books and Malkin gave her the most help which is needed in studies.
One year passed.she got very low marks in all the subjects.Her report of the open house was that she understands but she has to work hard to cope up with the subjects. Malkin thought now she ‘ll be able to do. Smriti,her sister was not at all interested in studies,she likes house work. Jagoo was now handling well.one rightly said that “if you are interested in something you can even melt stone”.she could score now the bare minimum marks. One thing is great about Jagoo is that without having knowledge of primary she could bear the responsibility of the secondary.Never too late like that she continued till her board class successfully .Board exam she struggled so hard with the intention of scoring high to keep up the promise of her career with the help of Malkin. She wanted to wave the world what she was doing in her childhood.
Malkin played a vital role in her success.The time of the result approached. Jagoo was neutral in her excitement.but others all were very curious to know the result.Even Dr. Ramachary supported Jagoo by all means.He was sure about Jagoo that she will achieve what she wanted in the life.It really did happen.She stood in the merit list and in ten years of the school no one got merit in that school, Jagoo was the first merit holder of the school. Jagoo, Kannika, Smrithi, Malkin everybody came to see the result .seeing everybody shouting ,Kannika fainted there . Smrithi was behind her mother,treating her.Here Jagoo is in the other world. Dr. Ramachary conducted a special assembly the next day to felicitate Jagoo and Malkin and her poor maid mother. KIannikamma couldn’t stop her tears.now she thought every drop of tear has a right to flow because of her daughter’s achievement.In marriage life she has never seen any happiness ,but today she felt that she is worth living.
Dr. Ramachary announced in the special assembly that Jagoo got a scholarship award from the government of India for her further studies.It was sounding great on Jagoo’s part. Jagoo hugged Malkin first ,as she showed the way of the dream,she hugged Dr. Ramachary ,as he recognized that i ‘ll be eligible to walk on the way of the dream,then she hugged great Kannika ,as she is the source of the dream.This was the wonderful day in her life which is unforgettable. Jagoo always had a dream of flying high in the sky. Everytime she was rushing to see the aero-plane flying .Jagoo revealed her ambition of becoming an air-hostess. She thanked all her friends ,their teasing kind of attitude provoked her to study more.she thanked all the teachers who were the candles in her life scattered the knowledge around her and dispelled the darkness.
After the end of the school and college life she joined the air-hostess academy where the fund was provided by the government with the help of Dr. Ramachary. Air-hostess academy was the best institution where she got the best facility of faculties .she has now become completely dedicated to learning various pragmatic ideas which is best suited.She has become now completely changed into a finest,beautiful where Malkin and Kannikamma astonished to see her.Her attire gave her a new look ,personality,gesture and posture disguised totally.In the air-hostess academy she successfully completed three years course and became a real air-hostess.
In the international campus selection she has been selected as a exemplary candidate.Delegates from different airlines came to interview her where she answered boldly all their questions.one interesting question they asked is “how you will serve the world ,if you have given the chance ?”
“Like one good human being serve the world ,I’ll give the best of my service which we cannot express and in delegating the task you will get to know exactly what I meant to say”. she answered positively.
“what made you choose this field?
She said “since my childhood I ‘d the habit of running out by hearing the aero-plane buzzing and I thought that is my ambition and passion which I've always dreamt off”.
“Do you believe in service which was given in the flight is necessary? Why only in airways it has been given ?why not in other means of transport? .she tried to give the answer to her best ability. They decided to recruit her . Next day she got a call from the same co.saying that she has been appointed and asked her to join immediately. She was overwhelmed and she thought god has blessed her with everything whatever she dreamt.
Malkin was having health issues and she was bedridden. Later Jagoo asked her mother Kannika to leave all other work and only take care of Malkin. Malkin was all alone.Her husband died after two months of marriage.she was all alone since she was born and brought by the village priest. Her husband was filthy rich. He left all his property and business in Malkin’s name. That’s the reason she showed sympathy towards Jagoo and helped her. Now Jagoo’s sole responsibility to help her. Jagoo was bit sad because Malkin was her love and she couldn’t see her in this condition.Jagoo thought she was the one for her true success, but now she is unwell.
Jagoo started her work in CATHE PACIFIC airlines company .she showed her utmost dedication and sincerity,where she was drawing 1lac per month.The first salary she kept near Malkin and she said Kannika to take over. Kannika was astonished to see the amount in her hand .she had never seen this much money till now and started kissing her daughter with the trembling hand. Kannikamma remembered her marriage life where she used to count stones,which her husband was pelting on her Now my daughter showed me to count money which is like miracle to her. Kannika said “Jagoo, you are everything for me”I never wished for money.you are like treasure for me.just take care of smruti,
As usual when Jagoo was serving the attendants of the flight she happened to meet Mr.Watson a very famous businessman she heard.He was impressed by her hospitality and concerned about the each and every individuals.He enquired about her whereabouts. He thought of testing her tolerance.He became the common attendant of the flight .He was calling her every now and then ,still with the same zeal without losing her patience she was serving him.
Mr.Watson started to develop some strange feeling for her and full day was dreaming about her.He couldn't concentrate on anything. He used to fly every turn just to see Jagoo. But Jagoo was neutral. Jagoo got a relieving for three days and she went home. Whenever she comes home it ‘s like a picnic for the family. Kannika ,Smrutia and malkin were just enjoy talking with her. Smruti was very caring and pious. Jagoo bought so many things for them that it was not finishing .She was just seeing the happiness in their eyes.suddenly call bell rang and Smruti opened the door and inquired, He was asking for Jagoo. Smruti called her sister and said that somebody is at the door for you didi. Jagoo came rushing thinking that courier boy. Mr, Watson ! she got a shock of her life.she was speechless.It’s really surprising for her.He didn’t wait for Jagoo’s welcome.Straightaway went to Malkin. Kannika was happy as well as sad .sudden arrival of the stranger asking for Jagoo’s hand it was not digesting .Mr.Watson shook hand of Jagoo and departed. Jagoo sat for a while and Malkin took the pain of getting up and wanted to talk to Jagoo about Mr.Watson. malkin said”Jagoo you achieved your goal ,now its time to relish the fruit.everything whatever you wanted you got at the doorstep. Don’t allow it to go .Don’t let the fruit to be rotten.relish it as when it is fresh.she never opposed Malkin’s words.
Next day ,she saw a cartload of sweets,fruits,dresses,ornaments and hundreds of people gathered at the front door.Mr.Watson was all rady for the marriage with the bridegroom dress .He was looking handsome and very smart.she was stranded and stunned at the sight. “Malkin are you there?”Malkin told Kannika to make her ready.Mr.Watson said no need of that .Here are some beauticians.They will make ready. Everything happened in her life within the blink of the eyes.Jagoo was ready .They bought her .Mr.Watson was eagerly waiting for Jagoo.She was looking gorgeous.Mr.Watson felt all the stars are gleaming at the near distance. Everything was looked so bright .Mr.Watson thought he is lucky to have hr as a life partner.”jagoo” some strange voice was calling her.she just saw him and she felt that his eyes were saying so many things to her. It has a gleaming beauty.He is also not less handsome.He kneel down and asked her “:will you marry me”.She couldn’t say a word.She leaned her hand forward and gave the consent.
Mr.Watson took the entire family to a marriage hall which was splendid.Beautiful decorations took the attention of every audiences. Jagoo for moment thought where is she.Marriage hall was like a heaven for her.The archies,the gardens,the waterfall,delicacies in fact ambiance was superb!The throne of the bride and the bridegroom was decorated in such a manner they were showered with rose petals and glitters. Kannika and smruti were numb.They were stunned.The grand memorable
